Philippines – les Visayas en vidéo !

For our third trip to the Philippines, we decided to explore the southern part, in the Visayas region! We landed in Cebu and headed straight to Moalbol to see the coast and the sardine beds. From there, we then headed to Apo Island, a little corner of paradise that’s still fairly protected.

It’s a tiny island with a very charming little village and a protected reef where you can find turtles and fish in abundance. Then we take a direct boat to the well-known island of Siquijor. Huge beach and remarkable sunset. Motorcycle trip to the top of the island and delicious cocktails before taking the ferry to Pamilacan, an island even smaller than Apo with a very charming little village, lots of animals and a beautiful beach where clownfish abound.

We then set off to discover the star of the place, the island of Bohol. There we go kayaking at night to see the firefly trees. We’ll also go to the tarsier sanctuary and see the beautiful Chocolate Hills at sunrise. We’ll finish with a few days in Anda, for diving and its beautiful beaches.

Next, we set off by ferry to explore the mysterious Camiguin, an island south of Bohol that boasts the highest concentration of volcanoes for an island. Camiguin is still relatively untouristy and well worth the detour. A scooter and we’re off to explore it, with giant clam cultivation, thick high-altitude forest, and the paradise island of Mantigue just a few hundred meters offshore.

Finally we leave Camiguin to return to Cebu and the island of Malapascua, world famous for diving with thresher sharks, the place is also ideal for eating in good restaurants and sipping good cocktails at sunset before leaving the country…
